Weddings & Engagements

Having been through both, I know what people mean when they say there are two days in your life that will always be the most memorable: the day you get married, and the birth of your first child.

And I also know that only one of these, your wedding, are you truly in control of: how, when and where. My style of wedding photography is to produce a documentary of this unique day, telling the story from start to finish of the union between you and your partner.  Every picture is itself a work of art that can reveal a thousand emotions. Finding those moments, capturing them and documenting them are for me the ultimate privilege of a wedding photographer.

As you will see from the gallery, I take a 360 degree approach to weddings, ensuring that every moment of the magical day is recorded: the morning at the salon, the walk down the aisle, the first dance and the final act – and not just newly weds but the bridesmaids, the best man, the family and the close friends, are all reflected.

Whilst I understand the need for many well planned and stage shots, particularly those involving family and friends, my team and I also spend a huge amount of time in the shadows, subtly shooting from the best angles with minimal disruption.

Weddings - FAQ:

What is the first step to making a booking?

Ideally I like to meet both of you before hand so I can get an understanding of the  type of wedding and reception you are planning, the size, the venue and the style of pictures you are looking for. It is also important that we feel comfortable working closely together. I accept bookings in Europe, Asia and the Middle East, but if you are outside the UAE the first step would be a Skype call.

How long in advance do we need to book?

Weddings take a lot of preparation – and so does wedding photography. To accommodate a wedding and the pre planning I usually need at least 6 weeks before the event to confirm a booking.

How many pictures will we receive?

It depends on the type and scale of wedding – but it would be between 500 and 1000.

When will we get them?

I often send a few preview shots within two weeks and the full album (in various formats you can choose from) a maximum of 6 weeks after the wedding.

What is the cost?

This again depends on the type of wedding you are planning and services you want, including types of albums. But any full wedding day is unlikely to be less than AED6000 (including pictures) and not over AED15000.

For many couples, there are two big days – the first being the engagement. While weddings can sometimes be a stressful affair, engagements are usually more relaxed. They are a chance for close friends and family to gather in celebration of the upcoming union.

There are different options here: some couples like to pick a fixed location and use it almost as a dry run for the wedding shoot – others like to treat it as a party.  And some like to do both.

Whichever you prefer, I again like a 360 approach, to capture the surroundings,  the different aspects of the event and all the guests – as well as of course the happy couple. Most engagement shoots last between two and four hours. You can expect a minimum of 100 pictures within three weeks, and some preview pictures after just 48 hours.
